All artists must be willing to participate in publicity or media stories and agree to the publication or reproduction of their work by IHC at any time to promote both the Art Awards and the Scholarship Award without payment of any fee, royalty, or commission.
11. Framing and Presentation
You will need to send your artwork to IHC’s National Office framed or mounted and ready for hanging. We will not accept artworks on paper or cardboard if they are not framed. Quality materials as well as framing or mounting can greatly enhance artworks and their chance of success. For advice about framing, please view the hanging instructional video on the IHC website.
Artworks MUST arrive already framed or mounted ready for hanging and with hanging / display instructions.
12. Sale of Artwork
All entries received must be available for sale. If you do not wish to sell your artwork, please do not submit an entry.
The sale price artists place on their work will be the price the artwork is sold for. Should the artwork not sell at the Webb’s Wellington, the artwork will be returned to the art studio. One hundred percent (100%) of the sale price will be paid to the artist if the work is sold.
13. Payment for Artwork
One hundred percent (100%) of the sale price will be paid to the artists bank account if the work is sold. Payment will not be paid into the account of an art base / studio, family member, support person or friend.
Due to the growing number of entries and the increasing administration costs involved in purchasing Prezzy Cards and Gift Cards, we are no longer able to make payments using these methods. If your artwork is sold, we will pay 100% of the sale proceeds directly into your bank account.
When sending in your artwork, please include proof of your bank account details. This can be a bank deposit slip or a copy of an online bank statement (with transactions removed) that clearly shows the bank logo, your account name, and your account number.
Please ensure we receive your proof of bank account by Friday 15 June 2026. If we haven’t received these details before this date, we won’t be able to submit your entry for this year’s Art Awards, and any artwork already received will be returned to you.
Artists will receive a confirmation email advising the sale price of their artwork and the expected date of payment to their bank account.
14. Pricing Artworks
Please be realistic when setting sale prices. Do not set an unrealistic price because you don’t want to sell the artwork(s). If the artworks are not to be sold, then please do not submit them as an entry. Artworks should be priced depending on the following:
• Materials.
• Size.
• Complexity.
• Cost of production (eg; framing costs).
• Previous sales history.
15. WORLD Legacy Charity Project Opportunity 2026
Alongside the Art Awards, entrants may have the opportunity for their art to be selected by WORLD to be part of their WORLD Legacy Charity Project. More details will be provided closer to the time.
16. Risk
All entries are submitted at the sole risk of the art studio. IHC accepts no liability for any loss or damage and shall not be required to provide insurance cover or cover the costs of damage to artworks.
This includes any damage to artworks couriered to IHC’s National Office or being returned to the artist, should the artwork not sell.
17. Media
As an entrant of the IHC Art Awards, the art studio may be approached by media or want to approach media yourself to talk about your artwork. If this happens, contact the IHC Communications team at ihccomms@ihc.org.nz for support to work with media, and for information about the IHC Art Awards.
Please do not liaise with media directly.
